A large part of the practice is focused on residential and commercial real estate matters, such as purchasing, selling, leasing, and financing/refinancing, in addition to more complex matters such as Planning Act amendments, conversions of orphan properties from Registry to Land Titles, survey disputes, joint ventures, financial acquisitions/dispositions, mortgage enforcement (for private lenders), and more.
Most land transfers in Ontario are now conducted through the electronic registry system, and Stainton, Murray & Lam is pleased to offer on-site title searches, executions searches, and land conveyancing, removing the need for outsourced conveyancing and defraying any extra costs related to real estate transactions.
Various corporate services including incorporations, shareholders' agreements, corporate governance, and the resolution of shareholder disputes are offered, as well as business services including purchase/sale of assets, employment issues, and business start-ups, in addition to more complex matters such as applications to the Committee of Adjustments.
Bookkeeping services are also available.
Stainton, Murray & Lam can provide you with the advice, guidance, and tools you need to properly plan your estate, including Wills, Powers of Attorney for Personal Property and Personal Care, and can also assist you in setting up holding companies and various trusts to help you protect your assets and minimize any probate fees payable on death.
Full estate administration services, including terminal and trust tax returns, are also offered.
For complex estates matters such as estate challenges that require litigation, a large referral base of skilled estates litigation lawyers is available.
Angela W. Lam is an appointed Notary Public for the Province of Ontario, and all staff are Commissioners of Oaths.
